Kyocera Corporation has announced the launch of the new Rafre smartphone which can be washed with soap and water.

Curved screens and AR cameras are nice, but here we're talking about a completely flashy but also useful feature of a mobile phone. To make it sparkle with cleanliness but also to work when you shower.
The Rafre model is actually the second soap- and water-resistant phone from Kyocera, as the first with these properties was introduced towards the end of 2015. This time, however, the Android device has an added bonus of resistance to the lather of common body soaps, so you can take it into the shower with you if you like it to be as clean as you are.
According to the manufacturer, the new Rafre is resistant to hot water and its touchscreen can be used even when the user's hands are wet or wearing gloves. In addition, the new device will be equipped with a special cooking application that will allow users to surf through recipes, set timers and answer calls through gestures, without having to touch the screen. This will allow the use of the smartphone while the users' hands may be dirty with cooking ingredients.
The device will be available in Japan from March 2017 and will be available in three colors: soft pink, white, and light blue. Pricing has not yet been announced.
It is expected to run Android Nougat, have a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 3,000mAh battery.
