If you liked the Huawei Honor 8, then you'll be happy to know that the Chinese company is planning to release the next model in the coming months.
We don't know if it will be called the Huawei Honor 9, but the smartphone already has a model number confirmed by TENAA, Honor DUK-TL30. The Chinese regulatory agency has just certified a new Honor smartphone that comes with more powerful features than its predecessor.
First of all, Huawei's new Honor device is equipped with an octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz, but the name of the chipset is not listed. We hope it will be Huawei's new Kirin 960 CPU, since the Honor 8 was powered by the Kirin 950 chipset.
Another major improvement over the 8 is the large 5.7-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels), instead of full HD (1080p).
The new device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (expandable via microSD card).
It has a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 12-megapixel and a 2-megapixel camera, along with an LED flash. There's also a secondary 8-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls.
The TENAA certification also features images of the smartphone, so we can confirm that the upcoming Honor will feature a fingerprint sensor on the back.
The DUK-TL30 model will be powered by a massive 3900 mAh battery, and will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
The dimensions of the upcoming device are 157×77.5×6.97 mm and it weighs 184g (including the battery).
