Many smartphone manufacturers are set to announce their new devices during Mobile World Congress, the biggest tech event of the year. LG decided to make a difference by announcing its latest flagship a day before the big event.
The giant has already started sending invitations to the media and event participants for February 26 at 12 in Barcelona, when the G6 will be officially presented.
The new smartphone promises a more powerful and larger display, more processing power, and longer battery life. This information was revealed by the teaser released last week, stating that the new phone will have a larger screen and a smaller body.
LG will take a different approach for its new model by removing the modular design that the G5 had. Furthermore, the company estimates that the new G6 will compensate for the losses recorded with its predecessor since its main focus is functionality.
So far, we know that the G6 will be made of metal and glass and will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. The only thing that is certain is that LG is not going to remove the audio jack from its new models, a practice that some manufacturers such as Apple (iPhone 8) and Motorola (Moto Z) have followed.
Among the various features of LG's new smartphone is a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The display will have 564 pixels per inch and an advanced cooling system.
It remains to be seen if LG will really make a difference this time.
