Britain is ready to begin construction of a very powerful warship.
Work on the world's most advanced warship is set to begin soon and it looks like the British are going to be the first to get one! UK Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon has said that work on the warship is set to begin in Scotland next summer and its name is quite unusual for something that is going to be built for territorial security: BAE's Type 26 global combat ship.
The Minister of Defense stated the following:
“Backed by the UK’s growing Defence budget, the Type 26 programme will deliver a new generation of cutting-edge warships for the Royal Navy, at the best possible price for the taxpayer. Today, the UK Government is committed to securing hundreds of highly skilled shipbuilding jobs on the Clyde for at least two decades and hundreds more in the supply chain across the UK. This is billions of pounds of jobs on the Clyde, keeping shipyards here for the next 20 years. We are investing in Scotland, as long as Scotland stays in the UK.
“[The UK government] has reached an agreement in principle with BAE Systems to turn our ambition for the Type 26 into reality and launch will take place next summer. By investing in the most advanced warships on the planet, I hope we will also secure the next generation with this programme of work to 2035.”

The warship has been described as a defensive vessel, but at the same time, we are confident that it can also be used as an offensive weapon. The missile system has a short to medium range and the technology inside will be there to protect Britain's underwater nuclear weapons from being detected by enemy vessels.
Business Insider reports that there are a total of four key features of the Type 26:
-Artisan 3D radar
-Sonar 2087
– Sea Ceptor anti-air missiles
– medium caliber weapons
