Canonical is getting ready: The upcoming Ubuntu 17.04 Zesty Zapus operating system is officially in development as the first daily ISOs have been uploaded to the company's repositories for developers and testers.
Of course, the images are in a very early stage of development, so you shouldn't expect anything exciting, as the ISOs are basically Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety Yak with a slight "Ubuntu 17.04" rebranding on the installer.
The release schedule for the beta versions has not been announced yet, but what we do know is that the final release date for Ubuntu 17.04 Zesty Zapus is expected to be at the end of April 2017.
As usual, the development cycle will have two Alpha releases, one Beta for opt-in flavors, and one final Beta release for all Ubuntu releases.
In the new operating system, Canonical is probably preparing to promote the development of the next generation of Unity in version 8.
