Thus, Bitdefender Internet Security, Kaspersky Internet Security, and Trend Micro Internet Security managed to get the maximum number of points in protection, performance, and usability tests.
All three security products were rated by AV-TEST with 6 out of 6 points for each test, claiming the title of the best security product for Windows 7.
The applications from Avira, AVG and Avast, although they did quite well, were unable to catch the top three.
Avast, for example, scored 5.5 points for protection, 4 points for performance, and 5.5 for usability, while AVG scored 5.5 points across all tests. Avira scored the same as AVG in protection and performance, but scored 6 points in usability.
Microsoft Security Essentials managed to get 3.5, 5.0, and 5.5 points in the protection, performance, and usability tests, respectively.
