As informed by an iGuRu.gr reader, the first Greek market on the DarkNet is a fact. We visited the page to see where the .onion that the iGuRu.gr reader sent us leads to.
The ambitious underground Greek market reportedly follows the patterns of large DarkNet markets, so the content was more or less expected.
Guides for beginners of the DarkWeb and online markets of the genre, Personal data, Drugs, Weapons, Murderers, Hackers, Hacking tools and Fake documents are the items that will be on the store shelves.
It should be mentioned that although the owners' goals seem very ambitious, with the "products" they are thinking of distributing, for now the forum is empty.
If you don't know what DarkNet is, read below from our older publication "What exactly is the Dark Web?":
1. What exactly is the Dark Web?
Dark Web: We have also seen it as the 'Dark Net' or 'Deep Web.' It is part of a mysterious network. The Deep Web is a specialized group of websites, the identity of each of which remains hidden from governments, trackers, and law enforcement. Regular search engines and web browsers used by the general public cannot see these pages. It is a private virtual space where users move in complete anonymity for good or bad purposes.
2. What is the purpose of the Dark Web?
The main intention of the Dark Web is to provide a safe haven of anonymity on the internet, where its users can interact with little fear of their identities being exposed by governments or law enforcement. The Dark Web hosts discussion forums, blogs, dating services, online marketplaces, data sources, scholarly writings, and many other services.
The Dark Web's Positive Side: The Dark Web, in part, is a haven for democracy to oppose corruption. From the anonymous network, whistleblowers can report corporate and government wrongdoing to journalists, exposing corruption hidden from the general public.
The Dark Web is an oasis for individuals trapped in oppressive regimes or religions. Through the anonymous network, they can find like-minded thinkers, and possibly find help to escape the oppressive conditions in their lives.
Thus, the dark web can be considered a haven for journalists and people with controversial lifestyles who can communicate with each other without fear of reprisals.
The Negative Side of the Dark Web: The dark web is not only used by journalists and activists. It is also a huge black market, for smuggling and providing illegal services. It is bought, sold and exchanged: hacking information (Zero-Day), drugs, weapons, stolen credit card numbers, illegal pornography, money laundering services, assassin recruitment services and much, much more.
The website that our reader sent us, as you understand, belongs to the last paragraph of the above presentation of the DarkWeb.
For obvious reasons, we will not publish the .onion URL.
We should mention that creating a site on the DarkNet or rather to better describe the work we encountered: setting up a phpbb forum is not difficult, whether it is set up on www or onion. The difficult thing is to gather interested parties (members) and in this specific case to avoid any arrest, as the “products” are not the ones you find in a Super Market.
