Samsung PM1633a 2.5” SAS SSD at 15TB: Although we still wonder who would pay $10,000 to get a solid state drive (SSD), we are obliged to report the news.
We are talking about an SSD with a storage capacity of 15 terabytes (TB).
But with $10,000 on the other hand you can buy a car..
The 15TB (actually 15.36) drive uses 16 Samsung chips to create a 512GB package. It then adds 32 of those packages together to create two Samsung PM1633a SSDs.
The drive is also available in a 7TB version.
Of course, it could be cheaper to buy four new 4TB Samsung SSDs at $1,500 each ($6,000 total).
