In addition to adding the SMS sending feature, the Messenger app appears to be continuing its efforts to separate itself from the main Facebook app.
So today it received a redesign that will add a new Home page, so you can see which of your friends are online, which of them have birthdays coming up, and who you usually chat with.
Let's look at the additions to the new initial appearance of the application.
The redesign was done with the aim of making more information available to the end user, so you can continue conversations you left off, or start new ones with people you interact with frequently.
So below the navigation bar, you will also see more tabs, such as calls, contacts, groups, and your own personal profile.
Previously, when you opened the app, the bar was at the top, and you could see all the latest conversations you had with your friends.
The top bar has now been replaced with a search bar, which brings Facebook search to the Messenger app.
