The first Xiaomi drone is a fact, and you can guess what its name is: The Mi Drone features a camera with a 104-degree wide-angle lens that gives it the ability to capture video in 1080p or 4K and can do live streaming at 720p.
Specifically, the camera uses a Sony sensor of 12.4 megapixels, which records video at 3840×2160 and 30 fps.
The battery life is estimated at 27 minutes of continuous flight, and it has automatic takeoff and landing functions.
Other features include an automatic pilot, flight planning on a map, and targeting flight position on the map.
Of course, the quite interesting aspect is the price of Xiaomi's unmanned aircraft. It is very competitive compared to other high-end drones: The HD version starts at $380, and the 4K video model reaches $450.
The cheapest version will be released via a crowdfunding model from Xiaomi's page, and the drone with 4K recording capability will be released in July with an open beta.
