In Japanese cities such as Takeo , Koha, and Ibaraki Prefecture, additional coding courses have already sprung up to help schools. Japan News reports that volunteers and businesses are effectively contributing to this mission .
To decide the syllabus of the programming classes to be introduced in schools, the Ministry of Education created a panel.
A similar trend has also been observed in China, where Chinese parents are teaching coding at a much younger age. Going a step ahead of Japan, China has started teaching children the basics of coding even before they reach preschool age.
However, these developments in Asian countries are not a new phenomenon. Way back in 2000, the Israeli government made programming a mandatory subject in its high schools. Britain created the same 'rule' for children aged 5 and above.
