Twitter has shut down the Magic Recs bot, which notified users via messages about trending posts and popular accounts.
A Twitter spokesperson said regarding the company's new direction regarding bots that @MagicRecs will no longer send recommendations via messages. Recommendations will now be delivered via push notifications.
The Magic Recs bot (which Twitter always considered an “experiment”) was one of the few useful bots with around 112,000 followers.
