Kodi is a cross-platform Home Theater application that will surprise you. The new Kodi 16.1 version can also run on Android TV, and supports remote controls that come with Android TVs that have a menu button. 
The new Kodi 16.1 update allows you to not cache add-ons directories, brings improvements to DirectX rendering, does not skip video chapters, the missing libgif.so library was added to the Android package.
It also fixed many bugs that were present in the previous version. The changes in Kodi 16.1 “Jarvis” point release are detailed in the changelog at the end of the article.
