Internet Archive with Windows 3.1 applications

The Internet Archive has just added new data to its pages. The new addition concerns ancient software, such as games, shareware, and productivity tools. All of them have one thing in common: they ran during the Windows 3.1 era.internet archive

Windows 3.1 was released in the early 1990s, and was a notable step in the evolution of Windows as an operating system.

So the idea from the Internet Archive is to revive more than a thousand programs that ran on Windows 3.x. From the 16-bit operating system, straight to your browser.

Although Windows has evolved greatly over the past few decades, basic functions and hardware remain the same: mouse, keyboard, and windows.

Believe it or not, Windows 3.1 is still in use in some parts of the world. According to VB, there are some at Orly Airport in France where many flights are grounded due to difficulty in controlling air traffic using the ancient operating system.
