Project Tor announced yesterday, February 5, 2016, the immediate availability for download of Tor Browser 5.5.1, the anonymous web browser for Linux, Mac OSX, and Microsoft Windows platforms
Tor Browser version 5.5.1 is a minor maintenance release, but essential for existing users, as it promises to fix a regression in font fingerprinting defense by whitelisting the Simplified Chinese UI font for the Windows platform, thus enabling Chinese users to have a functional anonymous private web browser.
For GNU/Linux and Mac OSX users, Tor Browser 5.5.1 adds support for emoticons across all platforms, and also no longer clears the iframe's window.name, improving support for iframe-based websites.
Tor Browser 5.5.1 is now available for download for GNU/Linux, Mac OSX and Microsoft Windows operating systems from here , but you can also update your installation using the built-in updater.
