Tails ,a live operating system that aims to protect your privacy by helping you browse the Internet anonymously, has been upgraded to version 2.0 Final and is available for download today.
The project developers state:
“Version 2.0 is a major milestone in the maturity of a free software project. The first public release of Tails was on June 23, 2009, and was called Amnesia. That was almost six years ago.”
New features
Tails 2.0 is based on Debian GNU/Linux 8 and adopts more of the modern GNU/Linux technologies, such as Linux namespaces, which essentially "shield" all system services, thus providing users with a safer and more enjoyable experience.
The new version also features a more precise way to notify users that the Tor network is ready as well as the new version of the browser.
Choose where you want to run the operating system and download the corresponding version
