Yesterday BlackBerry's first Android device (BlackBerry Priv) finally went up for pre-order in the UK.
The company also presented the first official video of the device.
It's a small demo that shows a very attractive smartphone, with a sliding keyboard.
The video shows Android running on a BlackBerry device for the first time, access to universal search and messaging from the bottom of the screen, and the slide-out keyboard that opens like a trackpad.
Of course, it will take a strong advertising campaign and maybe a little more to get BlackBerry back into the high-end scene, but at least the Priv seems like a good start.
The features of the upcoming device:
5.4-inch, Quad HD screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels that competes well with other Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 or the LG G4.
The BlackBerry Priv is powered by a 64-bit hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, has 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD slot.
Its battery is 3,410mAh.
Two cameras, one with 18-megapixels and a front-facing 5-megapixel. Both have Schneider-Kreuznach lenses!
