Specifically, the investigation of the case began after evaluating evidence and information concerning the case of a 12-year-old, who had been taken to a pediatric clinic in a state of intoxication and, as it turned out, was communicating via the Internet with (4) individuals.

The four, during their conversations with the minor, had asked her to send them photos of her with indecent content, while one of them had also sent her corresponding photos. Also, there were prompts from the four so that each individually could meet the minor and engage in indecent acts with her.

The above were brought to the attention of the Athens Prosecutor's Office of First Instance and a related Order and Recommendation of the Athens Municipal Court of Misdemeanors were issued, for the lifting of the confidentiality of communications.

From the thorough digital and online investigation by the specialized officers of the Cybercrime Division, the electronic traces of the perpetrators were found, and after correspondence carried out with Internet service providers, the perpetrators and the involved Internet connections were identified.

Morning hours of 7-9-2015 and 11-9-2015 police units of the Directorate of Cybercrime Investigation, in the presence of a Judicial Officer, moved to the homes of the two domestic participants, in areas of Attica.

From the investigations carried out, a portable computer and a mobile phone were found and seized. The seized digital evidence will be sent to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for the necessary laboratory examinations.

It is noted that the 21-year-old foreigner is being sought, as it appears he has moved to an unknown address.

The case files that were created will be submitted to the competent prosecutor.
