Microsoft started distributing updates worldwide this month, sending a total of 12 security patches, five of which have been rated as critical.

This month, Redmond is releasing security updates for some of its most widespread software, such as Windows, Edge (available only on Windows 10), Office, and Exchange Server. Thus both consumers and IT administrators seem to have a lot of work.
In the overall list of updates there are also five critical ones, as follows:
| Updated security version | Affected software |
| MS15-094 | Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer |
| MS15-095 | Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Edge |
| MS15-096 | Microsoft Windows |
| MS15-097 | Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Lync |
| MS15-098 | Microsoft Windows |
According to Wolfgang Kandek, CTO of Qualys, at the top of the installations for all users should be the MS15-097 update, which has been rated as critical for Windows Vista and Server 2008, Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010.
Mr. Kandek says that one of the vulnerabilities that is being fixed with this updated version is already being exploited, and thus this one is extremely important and should be installed as soon as possible.
It goes without saying that MS15-094 is also critical for the majority of users, because it fixes security flaws in Windows and Internet Explorer. The latter may no longer be the default browser in Windows 10, but it is for all users of previous Windows versions.
As it happens on the first Tuesday of each month, all these updates are delivered via Windows Update.
