NASA video explains rising temperatures

This July was globally the hottest month according to the data we have and whose collection started decades ago, in 1880. As explained in the video below, which was released by NASA this Wednesday, climate change and global warming go hand in hand with the rise in sea level.

NASA Video Explains Sea Level Rise

This is due to the fact that, as our planet becomes increasingly warmer, heat accumulates in seas and oceans, and subsequently progresses to the other elements of nature.

Consequently, a warmer Earth means loss of ice at the poles. In turn, this phenomenon adds significant amounts of water to the oceans of our planet, further fueling the rise in sea level.

NASA scientists estimate that climate change and global warming are progressing at a fairly rapid pace, and that children born these days will witness a rise in sea levels of 0.3 to 1.2 meters.

The reason researchers are concerned about sea level rise is because the phenomenon will make coastal communities vulnerable to floods, especially as a result of storms.

To protect ourselves, the best thing we can do is reduce gas emissions so that the greenhouse effect is reduced, which is the main cause behind climate change and global warming.

Investment in infrastructure that will protect us from floods will be made when it is determined which areas are particularly vulnerable.
