Google's self-driving cars are back on the roads

Google's self-driving cars have been hitting the streets of Mountain View again since yesterday. This time, the company is testing its new model, codenamed "Koala."

The Koalas came to replace Google's previous self-driving cars, which were modified Lexus SUV models.Google Self-Driving Car

“OK Google, let’s go home.”

The new concept cars are 100% built by Google, are two-seaters, and are designed to operate without pedals and a steering wheel.

For safety reasons, the pedal and steering wheel are only present in the passenger seat, which will accompany the car for obvious reasons during testing on US roads.

Koalas can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h, and are currently only licensed for the greater Mountain View area.

Google has tried to build a small, nice and friendly car with a compact design.

Its front looks like a smiling face and as we mentioned in a previous post, Google has invited artists to decorate the car's doors.

The company currently has 42 self-driving cars in its fleet, and of those, 9 are Koala.
