Microsoft celebrates 25 years of Solitaire with a contest

Microsoft may be getting ready to load new games into Windows 10 (like Candy Crush Saga), but it's not forgetting its roots. The company is preparing to celebrate 25 years of Solitaire on Windows with a contest.Microsoft Solitaire

After an internal competition among Microsoft employees, the public will be able to compete against the winners in the Microsoft Solitaire.

In 1989, Wes Cherry developed the game Microsoft Solitaire, which first appeared in Windows 3.0. The game went gold on May 22, 1990.

Although the game was partly intended to entertain Windows users, it also had another purpose.

He helped beginners with the emerging technology become familiar with using computers, learning how the mouse works and other features that seem simple to us today, but were unheard of at the time.

This way, novice users could learn “drag and drop” and the path they could find in the game with their mouse.

The game has evolved over the years, but it has also disappeared from Windows. Those who wish to take part in the tournament will not be able to do so from their Windows PC, but only from their mobile phone, if of course it is a Windows Phone.

For those who were disappointed, please be patient until the official release of Windows 10.

As you can see, the news does not concern the majority, but it is another good trick that serves the company's strategy of wanting 2 to 3 headlines daily in the media, as you may have noticed recently.
