For the third consecutive year, Greek companies active in the field of mobile communications and beyond will make their presence felt at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the “City of Gaudi and Capital of Mobile Telephony” from March 2 to 5, 2015.
The Greek national pavilion, organized by the Association of Mobile Application Companies of Greece (SEKEE) and with the support of the Greek state, will feature more than 30 exhibitors, presenting innovative products and value-added services for mobile devices.
The Greek pavilion, located in Hall 8.1 (Booth I49), will showcase a wide range of products and technologies in various sectors: from microelectronics and useful digital services (mPayments, mHealth, mTourism) to Internet of Things applications and innovative solutions in marketing and content management.
Exhibitors will also showcase a range of services for mobile users, including high-speed mobile broadband and video streaming, games, business solutions and mobile applications.
The annual Mobile World Congress is considered the largest event in the world of digital communications and the most representative point of reference for the industry.
The aim of the Greek participation in the Mobile World Congress 2015, which is also its motto this year: “Growing the Ecosystem”, is to expand the Greek ecosystem of innovation and extroversion, connecting it with the global one. To promote the solutions offered by its member companies in the international mobile communications scene and to demonstrate that both these, and the related services, introduce significant added value to the global ecosystem of the sector.
Of course, the companies and organizations participating in the Greek pavilion will benefit from their presence in Barcelona, to strengthen their networking and ties with customers and partners, with significant outward-looking moves.
The mobile applications space in Greece currently includes more than 100 companies, which employ at least 5,000 employees, the vast majority of whom hold a university or postgraduate degree. They are present in over 40 countries around the world and several of them play a leading role in their field.
Traditionally, they have supplied SE Europe with solutions and services in the field of Information & Communication Technologies, but their next goal is to promote a much larger portfolio of solutions and penetrate the global market, now capitalizing on their local successes.
Among the supporters of the mission of SEKEE, to promote the Greek mobile communications industry during MWC 2015, are InnovAthens, the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Hub of Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, the Computer Development Company (DAEM), the Greek ICT industry, Research & Development Institutions, Higher Education Institutions & Bodies, as well as start-ups.
This effort has been supported by the participation of 4 other business associations from the field of digital technology and communication. This collaboration is the continuation of a series of outward-looking actions that the 5 business associations (of the semiconductor industry, aerospace, biocluster and start-ups) have planned, under the title Σynergies, for 2014 and 2015.
These synergies strengthen cooperation between the most important partners in the field, as they facilitate the approach of a large number of companies of different origins and sectors.
