Within the next few hours, Apple will increase app prices for all European Union countries, Canada, and Norway, according to an email to iTunes Connect members discovered by Apple Insider.
It was something to be expected, at least for our region, since on January 1st, a European Union law came into force, also known as Directive 2008/8/EC, according to which the prices of applications, e-books and songs are increasing by approximately 6.5% in all member states.
The aim of this decision was to "close" a tax loophole that certain companies were exploiting, since in some cases they charged lower VAT than what was normally due.
