Developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision have announced that they are partnering with Microsoft's Xbox brand to launch a new edition of the Call of Duty Championship, set to take place between March 27 and 29 in Los Angeles and will feature a $1 million (€788,000) prize pool.
And of course the money will be the strongest incentive for the 32 teams from around the world that will be invited to take part. The selection of players will obviously be based on the performance of their members and their ability.
Players will compete in the latest Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on XboxOne consoles. The competition will take place in Los Angeles, with the exact location to be revealed at a later date. It is unclear how many tickets will be available to fans.
The official announcement explains that there are plans to create a series of special events for the 2015 Call of Duty Championship in Asia, Australia, North America, South America, and Europe throughout February and early March.
The development team at Sledgehammer Games revealed that the first large package you will be able to download and that will contain Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is called Havoc, and it will start on January 27, obviously only for Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Players who get the pack will be able to play on four new maps and will also be able to enjoy the Exo Zombies mode, which requires four players to join forces in order to hold back a horde of zombies.
