That is exactly the reason it has started to be used by many and, of course, by various criminals who aim to steal credit card PINs.  

Former NASA JPL engineer Mark Rober explains in a video very simply how a criminal can steal PIN from the your heat left by your fingers on the keys of a machine .

Now that you know the scammers' trick, it's very easy to protect yourself by simply touching more keys than you use to enter PIN . Alternatively, when you're done typing, you can place your entire palm on the keyboard so that all the keys warm up. You can also type using a pen or other object that won't transfer heat.

The good news is that usually don't have to worry about keyboards that are made of metal. Metal keyboards reflect heat like a mirror.
