Internet Explorer: Will changing the name improve it?

Internet Explorer . The name of a Microsoft Internet browser product . It has already been involved in several controversies, with security issues. It is plagued by performance problems. However, everyone knows it by its name. Some product names truly reflect the true nature of technology and innovation. Others reflect a failure. What do you think of when you hear the name “Vista” for example. So the name Internet Explorer does not bring the best thoughts. We are talking about the brand name and branding. A brand name is the name of a product and all that comes to mind when we think of it, while branding is the creation of the brand name. So according to rumors circulating on the Internet, the team behind the development of Internet Explorer is thinking of changing the name of Microsoft 's browser .

With Reddit promoted on Twitter with the hashtag #AskIE, developers from the Internet Explorer development team wanted to know what the public thought. We have to admit, it was a pretty brave decision for such an inflammatory topic as Internet Explorer.

The IE Dev Team tried to say that today's IE is not yesterday's IE.

But not everyone was convinced of the improvement.

Personally, I don't care. I use Chrome and Firefox and until something better comes out I'll stick with them. So far, nothing has, even with Chrome's flaws and imperfections, I can't use anything else.

During the Twitter conversation, someone mentioned that the team is considering and has already discussed changing the name of Internet Explorer.

I don't think Internet Explorer is a bad name. On the contrary, I think it was a bad product. I write "was" in response to the improvements that the developers mentioned.

The IE Dev Team, because of the product, may seem like bad developers, and it is unfair because they are probably following company policies. Maybe they should not rename the product, but the name of their team. Instead of being called IE Dev Team, they could for example be called “Internet Application Developers.”
I hope, for our sake and theirs, that IE 11 and the upcoming versions, will be better, more secure, faster, and more stable.
