This morning we reported on Microsoft's plans for the release of Update 2 for Windows 8.1. The company confirmed a new package of improvements for Windows 8.1 and its release date of August 12, as part of the established Patch Tuesday.
At the same time, the company publicly denied rumors that the Windows 8.1 update would be called Update 2.
Microsoft's Brandon LeBlanc said:
"Despite rumors and speculation, we do not plan to release an Update 2 for Windows 8.1."
On the other hand, Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 8.1 will receive a new major update on August 12th, but it will bring major changes to the operating system. There will be no long-awaited Start menu.
