JackPair is a prototype device that is on Kickstarter and is being sold for $89, to reach its goal of $35,000 and be manufactured.
JackPair encrypts conversations across all smartphones, but to do this, both parties must have the device.
The device works with all phones as well as VoIP services, as long as the user applies the JackPair headset plug and then pairs it with their phone.
JackPair has a random number (a different one is generated each time) that both parties must see and is what confirms that the call is encrypted.
According to the creators, this key number is generated each time through the Diffie-Hellman-Merkle technique which guarantees the security of the conversation.
If its creators manage to raise the necessary amount, JackPair will be available on the market in December.
