Microsoft is preparing a new Lumia smartphone, called McLaren, which will incorporate gesture control functions, without the need for the user's finger to contact the device's screen.
According to a report by The Verge, the new device will incorporate features borrowed from the Kinect sensor, which was developed for motion recognition on Microsoft's game consoles.
A key feature of the McLaren device will be the 3D Touch system , which is said to have been developed by Nokia over the past few years. 3D Touch will consist of a number of sensors that will recognize the position of the device and activate corresponding functions.
For example, when the McLaren is placed on a flat surface, the speaker will be activated, when we bring it close to the ear, a call will be automatically answered or even a call will be rejected if the device is placed in our pocket. Also, the sensors will recognize the position in which the user is, for example, if they are lying in a bed, if they are standing or sitting.
Additionally, the sides of the device will be used to interact with the operating system, so the camera can zoom in and out simply by dragging your finger along the side of the phone. The goal of all of the above is to simplify future devices and eliminate physical buttons, even the power button.
Another highlight of 3D Touch will be, according to the WP Central website, the new MixView that will allow users to make gestures over a Live Tile of the user interface and give commands to the device, without having to touch the screen.
According to reports, Microsoft is reportedly planning to launch the Lumia McLaren next November, along with new applications from third-party manufacturers that will take advantage of the 3D Touch system features.
