The news everyone has been waiting for is here. Microsoft has officially announced the Start Menu button at the BUILD 2014 developer conference! Microsoft has decided to bring back the Windows Start menu in some future updates to the operating system.

Terry Myerson of Microsoft confirmed that the Start menu will return sometime in the future, but did not give further details on exactly when it will be released.
As you can see in the screenshot provided by the company during the announcement, the new Start menu has elements from the classic design with modern touches. It displays the list of installed applications, as well as Metro icons. The main options for shutdown, restart returned to where they were, so it seems that the problems have ended for many dissatisfied Windows users.
The same screenshot shows that users will have the ability to run Metro apps that open in their own window, which means the company is trying to bring Modern UI to the desktop.
