Twitter accidentally resets users' passwords

A few hours ago, several Twitter users began receiving notifications to reset their passwords. These messages, as the company stated, were sent by mistake and not due to any attack by hackers.

The company began sending several emails, which led many to believe that the website had been breached. The messages said:

“Twitter believes that your account may have been compromised by a website or service that is not associated with Twitter. We have reset your password to prevent others from accessing your account.”

About a year ago, Twitter restored the passwords of 250,000 users after a breach. However, this time, the company stated that there is no fear of hacking.

“We sent some password reset announcements due to a system error. We apologize to the affected users for the inconvenience,” said Twitter representatives to The Next Web.

After these statements, it would certainly be advisable, even if your account has not been compromised, to change your passwords. Anyone guards their clothes, even on Twitter.
