The Festival's organizational team welcomes proposals for talks, workshops and exhibits for the 2nd Festival of the Commons which will take place from May 9 to 11 in Heraklion, Crete.
CommonsFest is an initiative to promote free knowledge and peer-to-peer collaboration in the creation and management of the commons. A philosophy that has spread widely through free software communities and extends to many aspects of our daily lives, such as the arts, governance, and the construction of machines, tools, and other goods.
In the 2nd festival we want to present how the practices and experiences of open source, Creative Commons licenses and peer-to-peer (P2P) can build a platform to satisfy a set of needs.
Indicatively, we mention:
- -shelter, food, clothing, water
- -governance, knowledge and education, arts, communication
- -tools, information, energy, transportation.
