If you ever thought of yourself as having an active role in a video game, Kinect was the answer. But that was in 2012.
But what happens in 2014? Using xxArray technology, in collaboration with Nikon, Alexx Henry , a photographer and filmmaker from Los Angeles, and her team managed to turn her photos into a playable 3D character in a video game. Interested? Read below.
Using 68 Nikon DSLR cameras , the team shot multiple D5200s and D5300s simultaneously to create a detailed, 360-degree photo of a human model. They then stitched the images together to create a very high-resolution photo and converted the file into a 3D avatar.
Using xxArray, the team was able to create a video game character. The completed 3D model (it could be yourself) was later ported to a video game demo, where you can use an Xbox controller to run, crouch, jump, or dance in the middle of the desert.
