As we know, Steve Ballmer will leave Microsoft in the coming months, once a successor is found. The man who has been at the helm of Microsoft for over 13 years spoke to ZDNet about the years that have passed.
Ballmer admitted in his interview that the company's Vista operating system was his only mistake.
Ballmer claims that he knew Windows Vista would fail and tried to address all the issues it presented as quickly as possible.
"The mistake wasn't just a mistake that can teach you. It was a technical strategic mistake. We tried to fight it," he said.
“People think that changing strategy has to happen every three seconds, because the industry changes so quickly.”
Steve Ballmer announced in August that he would step down as CEO of Microsoft, but the name of his successor is still unknown.
