After the release of Windows 8 came disappointment, as Microsoft's operating system failed to impress. The clear proof is the market share of the new operating system, which has reached 10% and remains far behind that of Windows 7 and Windows XP.
The Free Software Foundation republished an infographic to remind us that “Windows 8 is a failure.”
"The main way someone gets Windows 8 is because they're buying a new computer, so they don't have much choice. Want a new computer? Make sure to upgrade to GNU/Linux," the Foundation says.
The FSF claims that the Linux operating system is a much better choice for everyone looking for a powerful operating system for their computers.
“Windows 8 is a locked-down operating system. When you use Windows 8, your freedoms are at risk as proprietary software locks you out of control of your computer,” the infographic states.
Linux, on the other hand, “is free software.” “When you use a free operating system, you can count on transparency, freedom, and privacy.”
“Microsoft is a voyeur. Windows 8 knows what you do and sends the information it collects back to Microsoft. It can also delete programs without warning.”
