The popular Winamp will soon stop being released, AOL announced. It was specifically designed to fix bugs and other issues found in the application
The company, however, has just released a new version of its media player (Winamp 5 Lite 5.666 Build 3510) that brings several improvements.
If everything we've read lately is true, the Winamp app should be officially discontinued on December 20, 2013, even though the developer community is asking AOL to release the code and make the app open source.
Most interestingly, Microsoft is discussing a potential deal to acquire the app.
