Samsung has denied allegations that it tampered with the Galaxy S4 to help create inflated scores in benchmark tests.
AnandTech claims that the company boosted the performance of its device by 11% to give it a better benchmark score in tests.
The company initially responded with a Korean blog post – spotted by The Verge – and the translation published by TNW reads:
Under normal conditions, the Galaxy S4 is designed to allow a maximum GPU frequency of 533MHz. However, the maximum GPU frequency drops to 480MHz in some gaming applications that may cause overload when used for an extended period of time in full-screen mode. Meanwhile, the maximum GPU frequency of 533MHz applies to the operation of applications that are commonly used in full-screen mode, such as S Browser, Gallery, Camera, Video Player, as well as some benchmarking applications, which also require significant performance.
However, we had no doubt that Samsung would respond to the publication in question. We will have to wait for the next tests now, or for a response from a technician who will document the AnandTech.
