Silversky study on email security

A new study from Silversky shows that most U.S. workers are overconfident about their online security. This, combined with a lack of email security tools, can ultimately lead to data loss and more.

The study shows that 98% of respondents said their email security habits are equal to or better than those of their colleagues.

While many employees say they use more than the company's prescribed procedures to protect their communications, more than half admit to sending the wrong emails to the wrong person.

53% of respondents admit to receiving messages with sensitive data without encryption, but only 17% admit to sending such messages.

When it comes to email security tools, only 32% of organizations use security solutions for their email data, and only 21% use email. 46% of those surveyed admitted that their company's email security could be improved.
