its own smartwatch Microsoft. is reportedly in the final stages of developing The smartwatch is said to be made of Oxynitride Aluminum, also known as transparent aluminum (harder than glass). Microsoft's smartwatch will have a 1.5-inch display and will run a modified version of Windows 8 , with straps in various colors. The prototype of Microsoft's handheld gadget has also been leaked to have 6GB of internal memory and support for NFC direct wireless communication by touching it - unlike the first smartwatches that have opted for Bluetooth.
The idea of a smart watch is not new to Microsoft. In 2003, at the CES exhibition, Bill Gates had presented the first smart watches, with SPOT (Smart Personal Objects Technology). The “SPOT watches” were characterized as “smart” as they automatically adjusted to the time change when the traveler changed zones, had customizable faces and provided access to content such as news, traffic messages, weather, stock prices, scores, but also personal instant messaging (via the then newly created MSN Direct service). The content was transmitted to the watches via the MSN Direct service from FM radio frequencies. In addition to these, the SPOT watches had traditional functions, such as a stopwatch, calendar, alarm clock, etc. SPOT technology watches were released on the market by well-known companies such as Fossil, Suunto, Swatch and Tissot (High-T).
Interest and leaks about smartwatches are increasing, and in addition to Microsoft, similar information concerns devices from Samsung, Google, and Apple.
