In early July, a video surfaced showing officers from the Hawthorne department shooting a Rottweiler dog.
Hawthorne police have been heavily criticized around the world and, according to CBS Los Angeles , have even received death threats.
Anonymous published a video in which they threaten the police station .
“This is unacceptable. Hawthorne Police should know that you are our primary target. This matter will not go unsolved,” the hacktivists threaten.
When the video was posted on YouTube last week, Hawthorne Police Department officials said they took the threat seriously and called in a team of security experts to secure their systems.
However, the official Hawthorne police website was compromised by hackers several days ago.
