From July 1 to 3, 2013, the course is being organized </DECODE YOUR LIFE!> by hellas online. It will be a series of informative, interactive workshops that will give high school and middle school students the know-how “to go from being ordinary internet users to being creators of the internet.” The courses are being organized by the Mozilla and the AIT. Funding comes from Hellas online.
The courses are aimed at middle and high school students, as mentioned above. From 9:00 to 17:00 at the AIT facilities (19.5 km. Markopoulou Avenue, Paiania, Attica). Participation will be free, as will transportation by bus daily to and from the Ethnikis Amynas Metro station.

AIT & Mozilla
deCode Your life is a 3-day interactive web making workshop for middle and high school students, organized by hellas online, with technological partners AIT and the Mozilla foundation.
With the innovative tools of the Mozilla foundation, the educational assistance of AIT and the contribution of non-profit organizations, participants:
• They build websites and communicate through the internet
• They apply what they have learned, strengthening non-profit organizations • They discover ways of active participation in the community, through technology

Program
PART I: deCode Your Life – Mozilla (1.5 days)
AIT professors and Mozilla foundation representatives teach programming, using the tools Thimble, X-ray Goggles and Popcorn Maker.
Thimble – makes it simple to create your own websites. You compose and edit HTML and CSS in your browser. You see immediately what you have created and publish your pages with a single click. Very easy!
X-ray Goggles – View the code of any website, change it as you wish, and share your creation with acquaintances and friends.
Popcorn Maker – makes it easy to annotate, edit, and share any web video. Use your web browser to combine video and audio with content from the rest of the web – from links to text and maps, to photos and live feeds.
PART II: deCode Your Life (1.5 days)
Representatives of non-profit organizations present, with short inspiring speeches, the work of their organizations, their personal journey, and refer to a social issue that concerns their organizations.
Participants are divided into groups. Each group is assigned a Mentor from the organizations presented.
The teams use the tools they learned to design, implement, and publish on the Web an approach to addressing a social issue of concern to the Mentor's organization.
The Process:

2. investigation & proposed solutions
3. action plan
4. publication on the Web using Mozilla Webmaker tools
