Every time Apple announces new releases of iOS and OS X, one thing is certain. It destroys some widespread third‑party applications, mimicking the most famous features of them.
With iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks Apple shatters very well‑known and beloved applications. Take a look:
1) 1Password is removed from iCloud Keychain.
Apple adds more and more features of the 1Password app to iCloud Keychain. With iCloud Keychain you can store your passwords, generate passwords and have all your forms automatically filled with your details, just as if you were using 1Passward.
2) Yahoo Weather is being removed from iOS Weather
The Yahoo Weather app was simply a wonderful weather app, perhaps the best that existed on the App Store. However, this ceases to be true as soon as we see Apple's redesigned iOS weather app. It is wonderful, comes with many different animations and is significantly improved.
3) Flashlight Apps are removed from Control Center
Until recently, Apple had not been interested in creating a flashlight app. Yet, the new Control Center has a quick toggle that lets you turn the rear LED to use the flashlight. So you won't need to download any flashlight app again for your iOS devices.
4) Pandora is being removed from iTunes Radio.
The Spotify and Rdio appear to be safe so far, as they provide features that iTunes does not have, at least not yet. Pandora, however, is being completely replaced by iTunes Radio. iTunes Radio will allow users to create radio stations and stream music directly from the iPhone for free. If you pay a little more you will also be able to get rid of the annoying ads.
5) Instapaper is being removed from Safari.
The new sidebar feature in Safari will make up for the loss of Google Reader for many Mac users. Additionally, you will be able to view the Shared Links and the Reading List without having to close the page you are using.
6) Auxo is removed from Multitasking
The popular multitasking jailbreak tweak for iOS Auxo was said to be something Apple couldn't make. Yet, with iOS 7 and Multitasking, Apple allows you to move from one app to another with great ease. It displays apps as cards and swiping them is now convenient, so you probably won't need Auxo again.
7) Instashare and Bump are being removed from AirDrop.
File transfer from one iPhone to another was never an easy task. Surely image transfer was done easily via iMessage, but to send larger files you would have to use third-party apps, such as Instashare and Bump. Apple, recognizing this weakness, creates AirDrop and file transfer becomes a game.
