Google announced its new music service, Google Play Music All Access, a few weeks ago. The Android app was ready when the announcement was made, but according to Google Chrome and Android head Sundar Pichai, the service's iOS app is on its way.
At the D11 conference this morning, Pichai was asked if the company is working on making its services available on other platforms.
Pichai said the following:
Walt: You guys do this cross-platform stuff. Apple doesn't bring anything to you, although Tim Cook said yesterday that he's not against the idea of bringing some of their apps to Android.
Pichai: They brought iTunes to Windows. Google's DNA is about being accessible everywhere. The goal is to make it work for everyone around the world, and I think that philosophy is expanding. We brought Google Now to iOS. And in a few weeks from now, we're going to launch Google Play Music All Access on iOS, and our teams are working like crazy to make that happen.
