You'd be mad at the rare Apple 1, one of the first Apple computers to go up for auction in Germany. It was expected to fetch more than $260,000 at the time. But it sold for 650,000 to an anonymous bidder.
The Apple 1 was among the first 50 units built by Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs in their parents' garage, and is one of only six still in use. The unit, purchased with an original display, tape player, and keyboard, was personally signed by Wozniak. Original operating instructions for the computer were signed by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
German auction house Breker had previously managed to sell another Apple 1 for $640,000, but Saturday's auction in the German city of Cologne surpassed that price by $10,000.
