Samsung unveiled the successor to the hugely popular Galaxy S III tonight. The event took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
The new device is almost identical in appearance to the previous one and all its new features are behind a durable polycarbonate shell, which comes in “Mist Black” and “Frost White” colors.
The 5″ Full HD “Super AMOLED” display glares, incorporating 441 pixels per inch (PPI). That means 115ppi more than what Apple’s iPhone 5 has.
The processing power of Samsung's new smartphone, depending on your region, you will receive either a device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 or a Samsung Exynos 5 processor. With 2GB of RAM, a fairly large 2,600 mAh battery and hard drives of 16, 32 or 64GB (with further compatibility for a microSD card), the new S IV is made to conquer the title of the most powerful Android device on the planet.
'Dualshot' allows users to take a photo with the front and rear cameras simultaneously. With this, you can insert two photos into a myriad of flashy templates Samsung provides. With 'Drama Shot' the device can take multiple photos – 25 per second – in a continuous image. A Samsung demo showed a boy playing tap dance, in a fascinating collage.
Samsung's new device features a 13-megapixel front camera and a 2MP rear camera. The connectivity of the new device moves to a dual dashboard as expected, so it is compatible with 3G and 4G networks.
The S IV runs Android 4.2.
