Last week, Twitter released Vine, an iPhone app that allows you to record a six‑second video and share it via your account. A very simple idea where Facebook completely symptomatically decided to incorporate something similar in the recent upgrade it made to its official iOS app.
The new upgrade of the Facebook app also gives you the ability to record yourself and send it as a message, something that already existed in the Facebook Messenger app, while they also redesigned the nearby window.
You can easily send photos and audio messages via Messages by tapping the “+” button that is located next to the message field.
Unfortunately, however, you cannot send videos. In contrast to photos and audio messages, the only thing it allows you to do is record video via the app and upload it directly to the timeline while it does not give you the right to upload any video you already have in your library.
So it's not exactly like Vine. But it seems that they are also trying to take a piece of the pie that the now famous Twitter app started to create.
