Earlier this month, Facebook announced an upcoming new feature that will help users explore the social network in a "new way.".
Currently in limited beta, Facebook Graph Search provides its users with an easier way to search for information posted on the social network.
As we've mentioned in previous posts, this feature will make us seriously rethink what we post on social media. Our privacy will begin to be compromised as Facebook Graph Search will be able to retrieve information about yourself that you once posted and have forgotten about. The system could also be used to cross-reference different pieces of information about you with potentially embarrassing or unpleasant results.
A new blog called Actual Facebook Graph Searches published some very disturbing examples.
For example, here are married Facebook users who like prostitutes:

Good, huh? I wonder what their partners think?
Here are Chinese Facebook users who support the banned Falun Gong sect:
And, if you're wondering who to invite to the bar on Friday night, here are only women who are interested in men, and even more interested in good booze:
These are just a few of the examples that appear in real-world Facebook Graph Search , and there’s no doubt that you’ll be among the results.
It’s every Facebook user’s responsibility to be careful about the information they “give” to the social network.
This information has always been on Facebook, but now Facebook Graph Search makes it easier to extract it.
It might be wise for you all to take a look at your Facebook account, your posts, your likes, and remove anything you feel could expose you, Sophos says.
