Blizzard Entertainment, the company behind many of today's most popular games, has been hit by two DDoS attacks, one yesterday and another the day before yesterday, after previously being targeted on Sunday night.
Just like in the first DDoS attack, PoodleCorp claimed responsibility for the attacks through a series of tweets posted to their account.
The DDoS attacks paralyzed Blizzard's authentication servers, but unlike Sunday's attacks, these did not directly target the company's servers, but Blizzard's ISP provider.
If you thought for a second that users noticed Blizzard's "problem", you're wrong! Just like many times in the past, users flocked to Twitter and left the classic "Blizzard upgrade your servers!" comments.
The first DDoS attack hit Blizzard on Tuesday around noon, US time, while the second hit the company just yesterday, a few hours before noon. Both attacks lasted three hours.
Overall, this was the fifth largest DDoS attack launched by PoodleCorp against Blizzard, with two other attacks taking place in August.
Just like in previous attacks, the hackers seem to have set some small challenges, asking players to retweet the message more than “x” times before the attack is stopped.
Last August, the source code of the PoodleCorp DDoS botnet was leaked online, helping security researchers take down the vDos DDoS-for-hire service, which the group was using as a backbone.
