The thriller continues with the disappearance of 27-year-old student of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Maria Nestora, whose traces had been missing since the morning of August 27. The authorities have now located the girl safely while they are examining the mysterious case of the young girl's disappearance, with the latest evidence emerging from the lifting of her phone secrecy and the decryption of her computer further complicating the situation.
It is reasonable to ask whether the girl was the first victim of online bullying or surveillance by malicious hackers in Greece.
According to revealing information that has come to light, the last phone call the 27-year-old received - a few hours before her disappearance - was from her mother, while the last trace of her mobile phone was located in the Paleo Faliro area.
"Mom, I'm fine where I am, don't worry, good night" were her last words.
The young student's mobile phone was located following a prosecutor's order to lift telephone secrecy.
Greek Police officers are trying to determine exactly what happened on the morning of August 27, specifically between 11:00 and 1:00 p.m. when Maria's mother left her apartment in Nea Smyrni to go shopping.
According to testimonies from neighbors, the 27-year-old was allegedly in a relationship with a man, who accompanied her to her apartment, even just 24 hours before her disappearance.
Revealing evidence also emerges from the student's laptop, as messages were found that prove that the young girl was receiving threats via the internet.
"With the help of the Police, I had sent the laptop to experts in the Netherlands, who decrypted the computer's data. They found that my daughter was receiving threatening messages," says Maria's father, Nikos Nestoras.
The girl has now been found, after extensive searches to locate her.
We believe that extensive investigations should be carried out on the girl's computer to see if an unknown person or persons were monitoring her, which prompted her to disappear, deleting her entire online presence on social networking profiles.
